Here are my research notes that I used in order to weigh out the key differences but also similarities that ties fanzines and zines together.

My page discussing key points I picked up from a piece called ‘The history and characteristics of zines’ written by Fred wright. It focuses on the the evolution of fanzines into zines and where they both stemmed from.

I decided to research some examples of famous zines in order to potentially justify how their standpoints are different to what fanzines aim to achieve or how these examples don’t fit to fanzines.

The final page including other individuals such as John Marr’s opinions on how the relationship between the reader and the maker of a fanzine/zine is what separates them from each other.
